I regularly make conference appearances, speak to community groups, give teacher in-services and book talks, and teach children's book writing to other interested adults.

Presentations

My presentations for adults draw on my unique background as both an award-winning author and as an "insider" who worked in the publishing industry for sixteen years. Talks are tailored to fit the special interests of the group. Possible topics include:

	Teaching Children the Story-Writing Process

	How a Book is Made

	Insights Into the Publishing Industry

And especially for Classroom Teachers:

	Hands-on demonstration of classroom-tested tactics to teach children narrative writing

	A book talk that focuses on using Historical Fiction to teach American History

Book Sales

I am happy to autograph copies of my books during my visit. In fact, sponsoring organizations may find that publishers will give them a discount when they pre-order books. In this way, book sales can help offset some of the costs of the event.
