I am the author of several children's books, including award-winning titles such as
Trick-or-Treat on Milton Street and the "Animal Opposites" series.
I offer manuscript critiques and regularly teach writing classes to adults and children.
I often visit schools to talk about writing and the publishing process and I am part of the COMPAS "Writers & Artists in the Schools" program.
My background includes sixteen years of working for publishers Graywolf, Coffee House, New Rivers, and Lerner.
My book You Can Write a Story: A Story-Writing Recipe for Kids has been a hit with teachers since it came out in 2007. I am currently working on a middle-grade novel.
I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
